Volunteer opportunities

Plastic Free Chesterfield is working to create a plastic free community in Chesterfield with Surfers Against Sewage. A community dedicated to minimising Chesterfield’s contribution to the single-use plastic crisis.

In order to achieve this, our group is run entirely by volunteers. We would love you to join us in helping us to raise awareness about single-use plastics and work with our community to bring everyone on board with our campaign.

Volunteer Community Outreach and Engagement Assistant

In order for us to become an accredited Plastic Free Community community organisations such as churches, community groups, charities, community centres, and community events must sign the Plastic Free Pledge, pledging to take action to reduce their own plastics, as well as support Plastic Free Chesterfield and plastic free initiatives in Chesterfield.

Therefore we are recruiting Volunteer Community Outreach and Engagement Assistants in order to reach out to these organisations and get them to become a Plastic Free Ally by signing the Plastic Free Pledge.

A full briefing will be provided along with some sample text.

Please note you do not have to live in Chesterfield to apply for this role, as the role can be completed from your own home.

Volunteer Schools Outreach & Engagement Assistant

In order for us to become an accredited Plastic Free Community, we need to sign up Chesterfield’s schools (primary and secondary) to join the Plastic Free Schools programme (or if not at least sign the Plastic Free Pledge).

Therefore we are recruiting Volunteer Schools Outreach and Engagement Assistants to do just this.

A full briefing will be provided.

Please note you do not have to live in Chesterfield to apply for this role, especially with schools not accepting outside speakers to come in at present due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Volunteer Event Planning Assistant

Raising awareness about single-use plastics and plastic pollution is critical to the work of Plastic Free Chesterfield.

Therefore we are recruiting Volunteer Event Planning Assistants in order to help our Events Team in organising some fantastic events to do just this.

This is a unique opportunity to gain some skills as well as having fun organising great engaging events.

Please note you do not have to live in Chesterfield to apply for this role, as the role can be completed from your own home.
